One day there was a
sunflower whose name was Sally. She looked at the birds in the air and wished she could fly.
While she was wishing, a genie appeared and wanted to make her happy. He said to Sally, “I’ll give you one wish.”
Sally immediately knew what she wanted to wish for. “I wish I could fly!” Sally exclaimed. “Wish granted!” the genie said.
Before she knew it, she was flying. The genie had turned her into a bird. “Wow!” Sally shouted, “This is cool!” The genie watched her fly high in the air.
The genie was happy. Sally was happy. But deep down, he knew she had lost her joy because she missed her sunflower friends and they missed her. It wasn’t long before Sally became sad.
So, she went to look for the genie. When she found him she told him she didn’t want to be a bird anymore.
The genie was a kind genie and wanted Sally to be joyful. So, he turned her back into a sunflower. She was full of joy!
She realized that if God had meant for her to be a bird, then He would have made her a bird. He made her a sunflower for a good reason, and that made Sally smile.
