We are all Precious in His Sight
Abortion is a delicate subject, especially when explaining it to children. I pondered for a while as to how to explain it to young hearts. I felt led to do it in a way that shows how a baby is a precious life growing inside a mother’s womb instead of dwelling on the fact that abortion ends that life. Let’s begin, shall we?
Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world.

Jesus also loves the little unborn babies that live in their mother’s womb (belly). The Bible says in Jeremiah 1:5 NIV- “Before I (God) formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” So, what is God saying to you? He is saying that before you were even born, he had a plan for your life. You are so valuable to God and to your mom and dad. You have a purpose. Some moms and dads don’t feel that they are ready to have a baby. They have a very big choice to make. They can have the baby and ask God to help them take care of that baby. Or, they can give that baby to someone else to take care of. This is called adoption and is a very loving way the mom and dad shows the baby that they are valuable enough to let them be born and be raised by another mom and dad.

The last choice a mom and dad can make for their child is abortion. You may be wondering what abortion is. Abortion makes a mom not pregnant anymore by having a doctor take the baby out of her womb before it is ready to live in the outside world. Because it can’t live in the outside world yet, it dies. When the baby dies, God opens His loving arms and takes that baby to Heaven. The problem with abortion is that the baby never got to live out his purpose. Remember that God has a purpose for each and every one of us. Everyone should have the chance to live out their plan and purpose before going to Heaven.

You may be wondering why a mom and dad would choose abortion for their child. Sometimes adults make wrong choices. Sometimes moms and dads think they can’t be a parent or give their baby up for adoption. Sometimes moms and dads find out their unborn baby is very sick and unhealthy and feel abortion is a better choice. Sometimes moms and dads just don’t know any better.
But abortion for these reasons is still not the right choice to make for the unborn baby growing inside the mother. Letting the baby live is always the right choice to make. Everyone is special and important and deserves to live.
Moms and dads, you may expand further on issues such as rape and life of the mother. We here at PVM believe life of mother in early stages of pregnancy, such as eptopic or tubal pregnancy in which the pre-born child will not survive anyway, is the only medically necessary reason for termination. We also believe in the power of prayer in healing over that situation but would not hold someone facing such a situation to that standard.
